The Nebraska Beef Council announces a “2009 Beef Producer Roundup” industry tour on Dec. 2-3. This is a great opportunity for beef producers to gain insight on the marketing of beef through retail and food service channels and learn about new research and other topics, said organizers Randy Saner of the Lincoln-McPherson County Extension Office. Pick-up locations include North Platte, Lexington and Kearney. Some of the stops are: Nebraska Beef Council and Cash-Wa Distribution Center in Kearney; Metro Community College Culinary Arts Center, American Foods Group, and Hy-Vee Foods in Omaha; and Cargill Meat Solutions in Schuyler. The tour is limited to the first 30 participants and registrations are due by Nov. 13. The only cost to the beef producer is lodging on Dec. 2 and breakfast the next morning. To reserve a spot on the tour, call 1-800-421-5326. For a complete agenda log onto www.nebeef.org.
