Union Pacific officials reported that the derailment occurred at 12:13 a.m. between Lexington and Overton.

All three main UP lines were closed after incident. Two re-opened Saturday evening but the third remained closed until Sunday. No one was injured and the spillage does not pose a threat to ground water, the UP reported.

Unlike the derailment at Bailey Yard Oct. 10, inclement weather is not believed to be responsible for the derailment.

The incident remains under investigation, according to a UP spokesperson, until the cause can be determined.
