According to a release from the State Patrol, Trevor Brown, 19, of Gothenburg, was pulled over around 1:30 a.m. Sept. 19 by an NSP trooper for having a broken taillight. The trooper who made the stop determined that Brown was under the influence and arrested him for drunken driving and minor in possession of alcohol.

Brown was booked into the Dawson County jail in Lexington. There, he called his father, Anthony, 53, to come bail him out. When the elder Brown arrived at the jail around 3:30 a.m., the trooper observed that he was intoxicated as well.

The trooper warned Brown not to drive. However, 45 minutes later he observed the Browns exit the jail and enter a 2001 Dodge Ram. The elder Brown was behind the wheel when the trooper pulled the vehicle over.

Anthony Brown was arrested for drunken driving and taken to the jail.

“These arrests show parental actions do have an influence on our children,” said Troop D Commander Captain Jim Parish. “I want to commend our troopers for continuing to work the situation. By doing so, we were able to take two impaired drivers off our streets, and possibly save lives in the process.”

Not really sure what to say on this one. On the bright side though, both of them might have a higher success rate if they went into a 12 step program together. Recovery is a little easier to deal with if you have support from friends and family. A father-son combo going through the program at the same time would allow them to give each other a support network.

What a bunch of dumbasses. Guess the apple didn''t fall far from that tree. Just to be clear, did they let Trevor go, or was he allowed to leave. More than likely the truck was towed off. Trevor did not stay long enough to prolly sober up enough to drive it home.
