Nebraska 4-H marksmen finish third at national invitationalTell North Platte what you think
 

University of Nebraska-Lincoln 4-H finished third overall at the National Shooting Sports Invitational in Grand Island and several members finished high in the standings in individual competitions.

The 2009 invitational was June 24-28 at the Heartland Events Center and Heartland Public Shooting Park west of Grand Island. A total of 488 4-H members from 30 states competed in nine discipline areas.

A team from Texas finished first overall with 520 points, followed by Missouri with 497 and Nebraska with 464.5.

The disciplines and their results are following. Nebraska team members who finished in the top three in the various categories are listed.

Air Pistol

Slowfire Bullseye Team -- Luke Scholl, Lincoln; James Starr, Mullen; Seth Brouwer, Ansley; Lacey Clark, Berwyn, finished third.

Archery Compound

Overall Team -- Kacey Eggers, Tilden; Spencer Endorf, Norfolk; Sage Schwedheln, Hoskins; Brett Eggers, Tilden, finished first. Team also finished first in Field Team and third in FITA Team.

Overall Individual, Spencer Endorf, Norfolk, finished first. Endorf also finished first in Field Individual and second in FITA Individual.

Small Bore Pistol

Slow Fire Individual and Camp Perry Individual -- Courtney Anthony, Lexington, finished first.

Overall Team, Courtney Anthony, Lexington; Bradley Bunner, Hyannis; Sam Wiborg, Stanton; Mariah Kenney, Beemer, finished third. Team finished second in Slow Fire and Camp Perry.

Small Bore Rifle

Overall Individual -- Cole Bures of Odell finished first.

Hunting

Decision Making Team finished third. -- Derek Tegtmeier, Milford; Derek Jones, Staplehurst; Ben Scheehan, Seward; Myles Maginnis, Crawford.
