The rock band “Puddle of Mudd” will headline the summer rock concert during Nebraskaland Days.

Originating from Kansas City, Puddle of Mudd has been a feature on the rock charts since 2001 when their first major hit "Control" hit, followed by a series of number one's including "She Hates Me", "Drift & Die", "Blurry", "Away From Me" and most recently, "Psycho".

"We were thrilled when Puddle of Mudd accepted our offer," said concert committee co-chair Brian Moore. "As a fan of rock music, this is a band I can't wait to have in western Nebraska."

The rock concert will be June 12. Ticket and sustaining membership information is available HERE.

Puddle of Mudd performed Dec. 30 on ABC daytime’s “One Life to Live” and love to put on live shows. During the last year, they have toured North America, Canada, Japan, Korea and Iraq.

The Geffen Records band has currently sold more than 7 million albums, including their latest “Famous.” Famous features “Psycho” as well as current releases “We Don’t Have to Look Back Now” and “Livin’ on Borrowed Time”, both of which hit the top 40.

The band's name was inspired by the Missouri River flood, which inundated the band's practice space, and left the floor a big "puddle of mud".

Nebraskaland Days officials said the band would put on a great a modern rock concert.

"Our patrons loved the “Lifehouse” (rock) show last year" said co-chair David Fudge. "We found out fans were really hungry for more. This year we decided to go with a group that had a bit more of an edge, after hearing that request from ticket buyers.”

Country star Rodney Atkins

In addition to Puddle of Mudd's performance, the 2009 U.S. Cellular Summer Jam Concert Series will feature country sensation Rodney Atkins on Saturday, June 13.

Atkins is a Curb records recording artist known for number one hits including, "These Are My People", "If You're Going Through Hell (Before the Devil Even Knows)", "Watching You", and most recently "Cleaning This Gun (Come On In Boy)".

"Rodney Atkins has really taken country music by storm", said Nebraskaland Days executive director Lori Bortner. "But perhaps what we're most excited about are the reviews of his shows. He is a great entertainer with an incredible library of hits and a new album coming out; those are the ingredients of an outstanding concert."

Tickets for the Puddle of Mudd concert will be available Jan. 19 online at nebraskalanddays.com and in the Nebraskaland Days office at 509 East 4th in North Platte.

Tickets for the Rodney Atkins performance are currently on sale, along with tickets for the Buffalo Bill Rodeo. After May 1, 2009 general admission concert ticket prices will increase by $5 respectively, so concert goers are encouraged to purchase early.

I had never heard of them either, but go to youtube and listen to them, I think they are really good!! Every generation thinks their music can't be beat, IMHO. But come on, how can you not agree that you just can't get any better than the bands of the 70's. I'd put a wager on the popularity of Bob Seger vs. mudvayne any day. You like to argue, extremist. Bring it on!!

I'm young, and I have heard of Seger but I can't tell you any of his songs. My parents went to a Three Dog Night concert back in the day, you probably know of them.

Mudvayne is great. I went to disturbed a couple weeks ago and they were good, but the openers were a little disappointing, so hopefully Mudvayne will make up for it. But stuff I was seeing on this show it looks like it is going to be $90 a ticket! OUCH!!!

Extremist - Mudvayne is great! I have a couple of their cd's. I'm a pretty big metalhead. Lol. My favorite by Mudvayne is "Fall into Sleep". :) Cowgirl - You've gotta be kidding me. You don't know who Bob Seger is?! He did "Turn the Page" before Metallica did. Mmmmm, Metallica's the amazingness.

The only good nickelback song is Leader of Men, the rest make me want to vomit in my hat and then wear it.

i_b_husker--Most of the people in NP, if they heard mudvayne, they would have a seizure. Its a little different than the Top40 rock and country normal North Platte people are use to, see for yourself.

Maybe they'll play their 3 good songs right at the beginning of the concert so that we don't have to wait the entire time for them...

On a brighter note, Mudvayne is in Omaha in exactly one month! Hellz yeah!!!
