John  Andrew  Loostrom
     John Andrew Loostrom, 98, of Gothenburg, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Gothenburg. He was born Jan. 21, 1915 on the family farm, in Custer County north of Gothenburg, son of Peter and Marie (Peterson) Loostrom.
     He attended New Hope School and Gothenburg High School. He spent his lifetime farming and ranching north of Gothenburg in Custer County and in Lincoln County between Brady and Maxwell.
     He married Beulah Bedell at North Platte on Feb. 26, 1939, to this union, three children were born: David, Peggy and Mark.
     Surviving are wife, Beulah Loostrom of Gothenburg; two sons David (Linda) Loostrom of Gothenburg; Mark (Shawn) Loostrom of Maxwell; daughter - Peggy (John) Pape of Grand Island; six grandchildren-Perry (Kristin) Loostrom, Gothenburg; Wendy Jensen, Grand Island; Merry (Mark) Danley, Lincoln; Dr. Jeff (Stephanie) Pape, Norfolk; Sherry (Ryan) Sanner, San Diego, Calif.; John (Melodie) Loostrom, Maxwell; 12 great grandchildren, two sisters L. Johanna Bedell of North Platte; Carol May Brown of Lexington; brother-in-law Rod Carlson of Cozad; sister-in-law Rosemary Loostrom of Plymouth, Mich.; along with a host of friends and extended family as reflected by his recent 98th birthday party.
     John was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Robert, Bruce, Ivan Loostrom, sister Mary Ann Carlson and two great-grandchildren Lane Michael and Bobbi Jo Loostrom.
     Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, 1540 South 70th Street, Suite 100, Lincoln, NE 68506.
     Graveside services were held at Gothenburg Cemetery, Saturday, April 6, 2013 with Pastor Robert Litzenberger officiating. Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg was in charge of arrangements.
